Close... but no cigar.

Well Tuesday night we hosted the 2009 South Tyne Area Competition, above you can see our entry and the mark each image scored which this year was out of 20 points, and below the full result club by club. The image that scored top mark of twenty was Sylvia Lunn's "You Can Fly" which also came top image in the recent South Tyne Area Projected Image Competition, Sylvia is a member South Shields Photographic Society. Congratulations to all who entered and to those who came along to support us and lend a hand sorting things out. 
But lets all say well done to Paul Lee who scored 19 out 20 in this his first ever image entered into a print comp -well done.

A BIG NIGHT OUT......

Yes it's the South Tyne Print Competition.
With societies  from the NCPF South Tyne Area competing for the best Image and best Club entry. 
Judging should start at 7.30 so please try to arrive at about 7.15 -  after we have a buffet so we can have a chat with members from visiting clubs. 
Help my be needed  from around 1.00 to help sort chairs etc...  and again at 7.00 - so if you can please try to help.

Up and Coming...

This week, tomorrow we have a talk by Trevor Walters from Ryton CC.  

Next week(24th 02 2009) we are hosting the South Tyne Area Print Competition - more on this nearer the date.

The week after we have an practical evening where the idea is to take some still life image's ready for the up and coming Still Life Theme Competition - So, do you have any ideas of things to photograph or how to run the night? - if you do bring you idea or suggestion to a member of the committee.

DPI comp no2 - The Results.

Keith Saint was our judge for the second DPI competition of the season, Keith made some very insightful and some times humorous comments and observations on out images. Keith then very bravely set out his stall by also showing us a selection of his images which included some excellent landscapes of the Northumbrian coast.

DPI comp No2...

This week we welcome back Keith Saint who will judge our work submitted to our second DPI competition.

Also on Tuesday it's entry night for print competition No3. You can enter up to 5 colour & 5 black & white prints - minimum print size is 5x7 max 20x16 with a max mount size of 20x16 (sizes are in inches!) Hand your entries to Mick Gibson our competition secretary for prints.
